CodeCheck is a Melbourne-based technical animation and education company focused on the Australian building industry. We turn building requirements, technical documents and installation information into clear visual content for the people who need to understand and use it. At the centre of the business is a simple idea: technical information should become easier to understand without losing the detail that matters.
The technical information existed. The standards existed. The requirements existed. What was often missing was a clear way to explain them.
Cihan Ozbilgin
Founder
Cihan spent 12 years in education before retraining in building surveying and moving into the building industry - where he ran into exactly that problem.
That became the idea behind CodeCheck: take dense building information and apply the same principles used in good teaching - break it down, show it visually and make the important details easier to understand without changing what the source says.
Today, Cihan leads CodeCheck's technical content and animation projects, working across building requirements, training material, installation documentation and industry education.
Outside CodeCheck, he is a father of two and a Kukkiwon black belt who spent several years teaching taekwondo.
Mikaela Wilson
Business Services Manager
Mikaela brings a paralegal background and a detail-focused approach to research, source checking and business operations.
Her work at CodeCheck includes reviewing source material, checking technical details against the nominated documents and making sure the information behind each piece of content is organised before it reaches production. It is a role that rewards being precise, literal and unwilling to rely on memory when the source document is available.

CodeCheck creates educational and technical communication content. We're not registered building surveyors, certifiers or accredited professionals, and we do not approve, certify or sign off building work. Our animations do not replace project-specific assessment or advice - project assessment and sign-off remain with the relevant registered practitioners. For CodeCheck-written building content, we work from nominated published source material and supply the relevant source references with the finished work. Our job is not to replace the technical document. It is to make the information in it easier to understand.
